Description tour: City Tour (Red Bus)

In high season there are daily departures, starting in the main square in the Civic Center of the city, next to the taxi stop located in San Martín Avenue.


The distance of the circuit is 25 kilometres which takes an hour and a half travel. It consists in a guided tour aboard the "Red bus", redesigned exclusively for the trip.


It is a vehicle of English origin, Routemaster model, with a Leyland 0600 engine, with its characteristic double floor. It is a real collector's item, being a member of the Classic Car Club in Paris (France). In our country there are only twenty of these vehicles with this characteristics, which before coming to our town, it was in the Automobile Museum of Buenos Aires City.

Visiting the city


Unique in Patagonia, the circuit starts in the National Road Nº 234 going past the area of "Vega Maipú, in the outskirts of the town and towards Junín de los Andes, where you will see the remarkable urban growth of the city.


Then it goes back to the city center, allowing tourists to enjoy historical, architectural, cultural and traditional details, arriving at Lácar Lake coast.


Then going up Cuesta Juez Quiroga, it goes towards Sol de los Andes Hotel, from where you will enjoy an amazing view of the city and the lake.


From there you will enter Lanín National Park, bordering the lake for five kilometres to the resort Cabañas Paihuen, where you will finally return to the starting point.
